Description
This is an eight-week intensive Chinese summer program jointly conducted by the School of International Chinese Language Education at Beijing Normal University and the College of William & Mary. The program is characterized by stratified teaching, and traditional small class teaching. Students are placed into corresponding classes according to their Chinese proficiency and placement test scores. Small class teaching can fully guarantee the oral practice time for each student in the classroom, so as to achieve personalized student-centered teaching. The experienced teaching faculty help students to improve their Chinese communicative ability in listening, speaking, reading and writing, and guide students to understand Chinese culture from many aspects such as Chinese history, literature and geography. In addition to the compulsory courses, the school offers a variety of elective courses to enhance students' interest in learning Chinese and help them to understand the Chinese language in a broader scope.
